MD 38 has Peace Poster Merit Finalist

Out of approximately 400,000 entries drawn by 11 to 13 years olds from around the world, Margaret “Maggie” Scott from Bellevue was selected as one of 23 Merit Finalists.  Maggie is a student at Lewis and Clark Middle School.  Maggie enjoys playing flute, working with her EV3 robot, and painting.  She is also involved in Robotics Club, plays club Volleyball, and Concert Band.  In the 28 years the Peace Poster Contest has been held, this is the third time a student from Nebraska has been selected to be a Merit Finalist.  As a Merit winner, Maggie will be presented with a cash award of $500.00.  Maggie won the local contest held by the Bellevue Lions Club and then proceeded to win MD 38-N’s contest before moving on and winning at the State level.  All Lions in Nebraska should be proud that we have a Merit Finalist.  Maggie’s drawing will be on the International web site for the next year and will be prominently featured at the International Convention held this summer in Japan.
